In Brighton Sam Shackleton spoiled the party by somehow managing to turn around a six-to-one chip deficit to beat the Sky Poker sponsored Julian Thew. Had Thew finished off the job he would have won back-to-back titles having won the Luton leg the last time out. According to the extensive Hendon Mob database this was Shackleton's first major cash and what a way to do it, by staging an epic comeback against a former EPT champion and the only player to have won three GUKPT Main Events.
